It's easy to forget that Abraham Lincoln suffered his share of losses and setbacks on the way to the White House. The ALPLM has acquired a letter that reveals his reaction to one of those setbacks. He was frustrated and felt unfair accusations were chipping away at his support.

The public has never seen Lincoln's original, handwritten version of this letter. Its owner wrote out a copy 150 years ago, but held on to the original. Now his descendant, Scott Terry, has generously donated it to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Thank you, Mr. Terry!
