It seems like anyone who is anyone has been in a Marvel movie. But of course, that isn’t true as there have been so many actors who have yet to don a costume for the comicbook movies. But there are many actors who had the chance and turned down the chance to join the X-Men or the MCU, for instance.

Sometimes, this is due to scheduling conflicts. Emily Blunt was actually the studio favorite to play Black Widow but had to turn down the chance due to her commitment in joining Jack Black in Gulliver's Travels. Likewise, her husband, John Krasinski was also in the running to play Captain America but lost out to Chris Evans.

Sometimes, the actor in question just wasn’t the best to play the role. Alexander Skarsgard was also in the running to play Thor but lost out to Hemsworth. Sam Rockwell was Jon Favreau’s first choice to play Tony Stark until Robert Downey Jr auditioned. Rockwell would eventually join Iron Man 2 as the villain.

Jason Momoa is one of the actors who didn’t see the potential in playing a character like Drax. His patience was rewarded with the role of Aquaman. Sometimes, a lack of interest in the role leads to their departure, such as Olivia Munn’s interest in the role of Vanessa in Deadpool. These, and so much more, are some of the actors who turned down Marvel!
