Speaker 2: Richa Kathuria “Spiritual Intelligence as in Nichiren Buddhism "

Paper Abstract:
Spiritual intelligence (SI) is gaining popularity as a concept with academicians as well as general public since its inception. In view of sufferings of the world from many problems like stress, anxiety and depression, SI presents a promising solution. It’s often confused with spirituality. We have tried to highlight the difference between the two by separately defining both the terms. Many attempts have been made to conceptualize SI by researchers all over the world. For Nichiren Buddhism there are limited efforts in the literature for defining SI. Hence this study is an endeavor to fill this gap. This is an exploratory study based on qualitative research methods. Data source used is ‘Gosho’. Content analysis (inductive) is used for data analysis. Total seven themes emerged out for SI which suggests that we can achieve “absolute happiness”. They are presented as a model proposed in this study. Paper ends with new research avenues for future research directions for SI
