On the surface, it might not seem like the Marvel Cinematic Universe is all that controversial. However, while plenty of actors and directors have found great success with the franchise, others feel like they’ve gotten the short end of the stick. Directors have abandoned their Marvel projects upon learning how little creative control they would have, and actors have spoken out about how they felt they were cut out of films. In addition, it’s hard to deny that there’s a diversity problem, as it took a long time for a superhero who wasn’t a white male to get their own solo film.
