Gigafactory Texas on 15 September 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

On this day when the Inspiration 4 crew mission is scheduled to launch, I am dedicating this video from Giga Texas in honor of the crew and with high hopes for a safe launch and return for this history-making crew! Also, this is for a great cause (supporting St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital), which makes the mission that much more special!

There were many areas of progress today, some large, some small, but all very important! There is an introduction with discussion, images and illustrations to cover many (but not all) of the major areas of progress we see in the video today!

Timestamps:
Video dedication to Inspiration 4 Crew Mission: 0:06 to 0:24
Drone flight overview with discussion & illustration: 0:25 to 3:01
Drone flight footage & infographics: 3:20 to 26:09

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- On the far east side staging area, we see water vaults being stockpiled, which I believe are destined to be installed in the central area pit in and around the huge footings. This is most likely part of the 1-million-gallon underground rainwater storage system we discussed from the 2020 Impact Report!
- In the central area, we see great progress on the huge concrete footings in the pit and footings along the east shoulder next to the Body-in-White structure. concrete was being poured as the pier drilling rigs were at work in the south "thinner" pit area. We also see a large section of walls installed on the east side of the General Assembly structure facing into the central area.
- On the south end of the General Assembly structure, we see the perimeter grade beam is now about halfway along the end, progressing quickly to the east. Also, more storm water pipe installation just to the south continues this morning. We see wall panel installation on the SW corner of the GA structure as well ... rapidly approaching the angled corner and more of the huge windows were being installed as well.
- Along the west side, we see crossing guards helping Tesla employees park and cross the busy construction road and into the GA structure ... it is obvious Tesla employees are very busy at work inside and while construction continues. (At the end of my 13 September video, I caught a glimpse of a Model Y body in a dump truck headed to scrap (in all likelihood), showing work on the test Model Y bodies continues.)
- In the casting structure, we see a lot of progress with the two new giga press foundations and we see the 3rd Casting machine being assembled. The roof bridge is now completed, along with the vertical steel work and they were hoisting roof decking at the time I flew.
- The "alley" area is structurally complete, and the rood decking is just about as well. Inside, we can see the floor decking is also complete, as are the rails for the bridge crane.
- Finally, we look at the east side and see more preparations for concrete driveways along the BIW structure, a newly completed large white tent that I believe is a temporary eating area to support the growing Tesla and contractor workforce on site, and the former robotic machine storage area is getting cleared out much more, including dismantling the temporary workshop structures and moving more equipment farther to the east staging areas.
