Merrick is providing consulting services to a local firm, VRM Construction Company, for the design, construction, and commissioning of the new Instituto Politecnico Nacional (IPN) BSL2-3 Lab in Mexico City, Mexico. The National School of Biological Sciences (NSBS) is a Mexican institution of higher education and research belonging to the IPN, specializing in the training of professionals in the area of health, biological chemistry, environment, and bioengineering. The new BSL-3 laboratory will provide the level of biosafety and biosecurity required to safely handle emerging and re-emerging diseases (potentially lethal in large quantities) in accordance with current biosafety standards.
