EFT and EFIT represent a synthesis of the insights from Carl Rogers and the pioneer of attachment science, John Bowlby. Both luminaries convey that cultivating safe corrective emotional experiences fosters the development of resilient, well-balanced individuals who can engage and take risks in their interactions with others.

This philosophy can be encapsulated by considering three fundamental P's. Firstly, non-pathologizing serves as the foundational approach advocated by both Rogers and Bowlby — a recognition of the importance of starting the therapeutic journey from where individuals currently are. This is the essence of the first P.

Moving to the second P, emphasis is placed on acknowledging the healing potential inherent in human felt presence and connection. This perspective extends beyond the therapeutic setting, recognizing the natural healing context that exists within and outside of formal therapy.

The third P involves a focused examination of negative patterns within our inner world, encompassing the construction of our emotions and the intricate movements in the dance of relationships. These three P's underscore the core principles of non-pathologizing, the therapeutic power of presence, and a concentrated effort on understanding and transforming patterns that may hinder growth.

In essence, these principles guide us to explore non-pathologizing perspectives, appreciate the healing power found in genuine presence and connection, and scrutinize and modify patterns that either keep us entrenched or unlock pathways to growth.
