Originally titled “Cotton’s Dream” when composed by Botkin & De Vorzon as incidental music for the 1971 movie “Bless The Beasts And Children” (and included in the film’s soundtrack LP in a shorter version), the tune was later was adopted in 1973 as the theme for the soap opera “The Young And The Restless.”

Three years after that, when it was featured by ABC’s “Wide World Of Sports” in their montage salute to Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci following her multiple gold medal performances in the 1976 Summer Olympics, the track was released on a single by popular demand but edited to a longer track and renamed “Nadia’s Theme.” First pressings (as seen on the original promo 45    • 1976 Barry De Vorzon & Perry Botkin, ...   ) named only Botkin as the artist, which was changed after De Vorzon sued the label.
