I'm going to show you how to use the new Advanced 3D Render Engine in Adobe After Effects 2024 to create a flat-shaded extruded button using TRUE 3D geometry! We'll also learn how to write some expressions to link the position of the layer to its extrusion so we can easily control which direction the extrusion moves, and we'll even create an almost isometric 3D camera. And if you don't want to make your own, I created a template 3D button with lots of customizable controls so you can instantly build your own without any of the work! It dynamically updates to the size of the text and is fully animatable through essential properties and the essential graphics panel. And since it uses essential properties, you can have as many custom instances of the button rig as you want without duplicating any precomps!
