This is a long video, but there was a lot to cover. After a lengthy introduction, I unbox and season my new Matfer carbon steel skillet. This is the pan recommended by America's Test Kitchen. I really like carbon steel skillets. Properly maintained they will be nonstick and last much longer than the coated pans sold in the stores. Like good quality cast iron cookware, a good carbon steel pan can be handed down as an heirloom. Even better, this is a good choice for an induction cooktop. And even more better, this skillet was given to me as a gift. Thank you.
