Sound like you? You're probably going to love the 2022 Ineos Grenadier 4x4, which we've just experienced a ride-along in a prototype in Australia about 12 months before the production version of this Land Rover Defender 110 rival arrives here.

Yes, it was just a ride-along review this time around, because - as reviewer Dave Morley puts it - this is a squillion dollar prototype.

Australia will get a turbo-petrol six-cylinder engine and a twin-turbo diesel six-cylinder engine, both of which will be sourced from BMW. There'll be standard-fit ZF eight-speed auto and full-time four wheel drive.

While the version Dave experienced was not quite the finished product, he was impressed by the ability and capability, the design and drivetrain of this all-new large 4x4 SUV. And there's going to be a dual cab ute / double cab pickup model, too!
