Gigafactory Texas on 16 August 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

Despite a torrential rainstorm in Austin last night that left the state capitol building roof leaking and water in the hallways, Giga Texas was dry, busy and new features all over being installed, including some small "fencing" under the powerline areas. The strange weather we’ve been experiencing all year here in central Texas continues.

We look at the interesting wall panel and glass design emerging on the west side of the main factory facing the highway. We also see more roads going in all over the site as well as some small “fencing” around and under the main powerlines, possibly to keep equipment and vehicles out from that area to prevent damage to underground utilities.

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- Many new wall panels, including the triangular pieces forming a highway-facing window design on the west side of the General Assembly structure. We take a look using highlighted outlines to see what the pattern may look like when completed.
- The battery cell structure is getting more exterior walls installed on the north end and there is a lot of interior work as well, including interior walls, equipment and wiring installation, deliveries and more!
- Roofing on the battery cell structure is also progressing quickly, especially around the HVAC openings. More cementitious material is being applied and only a small area remains for the application of the final weatherproof membranes.
- Work between the paint shop and battery cell structures continues, with the steel assembly now more than halfway to the north end. Large bridge crane railing continues to be installed the length of this area.
- The casting machine roof is getting another large area poured with concrete and there is both more foundation work, appearing to have new forms going farther north and unpacking of Giga Press #3.
- The space-frame assembly just north of the paint shop is starting a new section, so it appears a large area will be covered with these … we may see this as part of the roof in the “alley” way, but for now that is not determined, but the proximity to the area seems to be a big clue.
- Down in the central area, we see that the large pit is growing again to the south and more floor and roof decking is being applied to the steel structure. We also see more of the large black storm water drainage pipes being delivered for installation.
- All red cranes have been disassembled for transport off-site as their work has now concluded.
- Road work underway on the both the south and east sides of the main structure this early morning as well. On the south we see concrete sections have been poured and more being prepared with forms and rebar for concrete application soon.
- Finally, from what I can tell, there is a lot of activity going on inside as well.
