Peru’s diamond in the rough, Machu Picchu sits high in the Andes Mountains and offers a rare glimpse into the ancient Incan civilization. Getting there is half the fun they say and that’s no joke for planning a trip to see this New World Wonder. Plan accordingly with a start and finish in the city of Cusco, which provides all the amenities you’d need to ensure the safest and most entertaining trek to Machu Picchu. While ancient relics may not be your cup of tea, but a lost city sitting on top of a mountain with views that rival the greatest in the world, it would be a great trip for anyone if you have any sense of adventure and curiosity.
