You are going to hear the word GIANT a lot. And if monster-sized animals terrify you, then the lot you
will see in today’s episode may just be your worst nightmare.
From the most terrifying centipede in the world to the largest animal ever to have lived, these are the
10 biggest animals you won’t believe actually exist.

#10. Amazonian Giant Centipede
The Amazonian Giant Centipede grows only 17 inches long, but that’s as much as it needs to stretch to
be named the largest centipede in the world.
Regular-sized house centipedes are already pretty scary with their venom-laden claws and abundance of
creepy legs. Their giant counterparts, native to the tropical rainforest reputed for spitting out only the
most terrifying creatures, are deadlier.
These are jumpy bugs with a reputation for being extremely bad-tempered and an appetite to match
their magnified size. They are aggressive carnivores capable of catching, envenoming, and killing prey 15
times their size.
These seemingly tiny bugs are fierce predators within their range. They are highly venomous and are
quick to inject a lethal dose of complex toxic compounds that incapacitate their victims almost
immediately.

#9. Giant Asian Murder Hornet
A hornet, the size of which you’ve never seen before, scouts the vast countryside to locate a bee colony.
Its work is simple, locate and report…by releasing a special pheromone that acts as a GPS beacon.
A small group of Murder hornets is enough to attack, destroy, and occupy the beehive. Unless the bees
can quickly eliminate the giant hornet scout –often by luring it into the hive and then swarming it by the
thousands until it literally cooks in their body heat – they will stand no chance against even a small unit
of Giant hornet.
With a huge size to their advantage (2 inches versus the honey bees’ half-an-inch), a unit of 30 giant
hornet commandos can make short work of a beehive of over 30,000 bees.

#8. Giant Jellyfish
Also known as lion’s mane jellyfish, this is one of the largest jellyfish in the world.
The Giant Jellyfish is reckoned to grow up to 8 feet wide and span lengths that exceed 100 feet from the
bell to the tip of its tentacles. Some individuals measure up to 120 feet, making them longer than the
largest creature known, the blue whale.

Giant jellyfishes are graceful swimmers mostly found cruising the colder oceans of the Northern
Hemisphere. They’re awe-inspiring bottom-sea dwellers with an orange-brown bell with lacy, pinkish
arms, and long thin stingers. They are distinguished by an eight-lobed bell trailing about 70 to 150
tentacles.
Despite their mesmerizing appearance, Lion’s mane jellyfish are quite dangerous creatures. They have
been known to sting whether they’re alive or dead. So if you see one washed up on the shore, give it
plenty of room.

#7. Andean Condor
With a wingspan of more than 10 feet, the mighty Andean Condor is one of the largest flying birds in the
world. Tipping the scales at up to 40 pounds, these mountain-dwelling south American vultures are also
named the world’s heaviest flying birds.
These majestic birds are skilled air marshals able to soar and glide over 100 miles without flapping their
wings. They are in their element on the wing, and having a keen eye-sight that rivals that of an eagle,
these impressive raptors can spot carrion from miles away.
Because dead, decaying flesh makes the bulk of their diet, Andean Condors have often been referred to
as the undertakers of the skies or a sort of clean-up crew. Like other carrion feeders, they perform a
very important ecological job.
#6. Flemish Giant Rabbits
The name says it all, the Flemish GIANT Rabbits are the biggest in the bunny world. They are gentle
giants growing up to 15 pounds and measuring about 3 feet long.
However, the largest rabbit in the world was much bigger. Darius, the 4 feet and 3 inches Flemish Giant
Rabbit pet, holds the Guinness World record for being the largest bunny in the world.
Darius is also quite unique in the fact that he acts “more like a puppy” than the flighty, burrowing
leporine of the wild. He has been described as a very laid-back bunny and a gentle giant.
The well-regarded bunny first became famous back in 2010 when he received the Guinness record title.
And again this year when the owners claimed that their prize-winning rabbit was missing, probably
stolen.
