Sam works at the Spoetnik food stand, selling its namesake specialty lunch kabab. The stand is situated across the street from a brothel, and when one of the girls who works there visits Sam's stand -- slung over the shoulder of her "minder" -- Sam falls in love with the alluringly pretty girl and decides to rescue her.
SPOETNIK is a classic tale of love at first sight, but with its wry sense of humor, stylized images and eccentric sense of timing, it's a highly memorable cinematic experience. Each detail in the film -- from the costumes and sharp framing to the locations and colors -- is highly precise and even uncannily elegant. The result is a film with plenty of verve, style and ruffian charm, and makes for a highly enjoyable and unique take on the romantic comedy.
