A NEW Covid super-strain was officially named a "variant of concern" by the WHO on Friday evening - amid fears it has already spread to the UK.

Variant B.1.1.529, now renamed Omicron has twice as many mutations as the delta strain and experts are cautioning that it could force countries back into lockdowns.
