At Zócalo's 12th annual Book Prize event, winner Heather McGhee discussed the themes of her book "The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together" with moderator Renata Simril, President and CEO of LA84 Foundation.

During the discussion, McGhee urged Americans to have grace in a society that has "very competing messages all the time about who we are suppose to be to one another."
