Toyota Raize 2022 has a new powertrain option called e-SMART, which is basically a hybrid that combines a naturally aspirated 1.2L 3-cylinder engine with an electric motor of 105 hp and torque. 170 Nm of torque at the front axle, but this engine is not used to drive, but to recharge the 4.3 Ah lithium-ion battery located below the rear seats. This configuration eliminates the traditional gearbox and gives extremely good fuel efficiency at 3.57 liters / 100 km. With the above hybrid powertrain, Toyota Raize 2022 bring a driving experience quite similar to electric cars, except for the sound emitted by the gasoline engine. In addition, the car also has a driving mode using only one Smart Pedal (S-PDL) thanks to the regenerative braking system. This driving mode allows the driver to decelerate, stop and move with only the accelerator pedal. Toyota confirmed that the hybrid version of the Raize only consumes an average of 3.57 liters per 100 km.
