Someone once said that the power of radio is not that it speaks to millions, but that it speaks intimately and privately to each of those millions.

That was especially true for Reyna. Born in a small mountain village, she grew up in abject poverty with only the bare necessities of life. Then when she was still a teenager, she was lured to the big city with hopes for a better future that would allow her to support her impoverished family.

But as often happens, the reality she encountered was different from her dreams, and she found herself alone on a busy street corner with no money, no friends, and no job—just the sort of girl in a tough spot that certain predatory men like to “rescue.”
