The "Weeping Woman" has her roots in Mexican and Central American legend and her very own place in The Conjurverse.

La Llorona, or as she is known in English, The Weeping Woman or Wailing Woman, was originally said to be a mother born into poverty in the 1600s, who was forever haunted by her own actions against her children, leaving her crying spirit to terrorize the nearby river. But in the Conjuring universe version, the spirit makes her way to Los Angeles and takes on many of the traits seen in other antagonists that have menaced this franchise.

So far, the character has appeared once, in Michael Chavez's 2019 film: The Curse of La Llorona.

In this video I'll be analyzing everything we know about La Llorona, from her legendizing in Central America, to the different versions of the legend and their meaning, her manipulation of Social Services in America, and her potential future in the history of the Conjurverse.
