We bought a 1986 Scat hovercraft off of Facebook marketplace for what we thought was a great price! Turns out, hovercrafts are speciality vehicles with speciality parts, like a skirt that is no longer available, and a Rotax 277cc 2 stroke ultralight engine, where parts are very expensive to replace. When we found out we were missing the proper expansion chamber for the original 277cc engine, we decided to swap engines to a Rotor 503 twin cylinder 2 stroke snowmobile engine! We nearly doubled the displacement and horsepower, and how the hovercraft rips!
