In this video we are installing our Whirlpool 583-1 dishwasher. Most dishwasher models will have similar installation requirements, however your electrical, water supply, and drain connections may vary. Remember to register your device in case you need to make a warranty claim in the future.

Be sure to follow your local building code requirements as well as the manufacturer's requirements. One of the most commonly missed steps is to install a high loop or air gap in the drain line to prevent backflow from your sink drain. I personally prefer to install a plug rather than hardwire the dishwasher so that it can be powered down right next to the machine.

We had to wait until the kitchen was complete to finish mounting the dishwasher. I hope you enjoyed watching our kitchen renovation in the background!
