In this video, we'll explore the Family Tree of Sultans of Delhi Sultanate in Subcontinent, a medieval Muslim dynasty that ruled over much of northern India from the 13th to the 16th centuries. It covered large swaths of territory in modern-day India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh as well as some parts of southern Nepal.
The foundation of the Sultanate was laid by the Ghurid conqueror Muhammad Ghori who routed the Rajput Confederacy led by Ajmer ruler Prithviraj Chauhan in 1192. After which five unrelated heterogeneous dynasties ruled over the Delhi Sultanate os Subcontinent sequentially. So we'll learn about these families that ruled Delhi, as well as the events that led to their downfall.
