In this 4x4 comparison we analyze in depth the classic Land Rover Defender, specifically a 1997 Defender 300 tdi version, and then face it with the recently launched Defender 90 in modern version.

The original Land Rover is a pure off-road vehicle, a work vehicle with a frame and crossbar chassis, rigid double axle, reduction gear and a hard interior without compromising on comfort. It is also a myth, and a universal icon with a notable reputation as a true all-rounder.

The first Land Rover is from 1948, designed in post-war UK, a time of a shortage of steel (that's why it's aluminum), a shortage of paint (that's why they were all green) and a shortage of media (that's why they were so square ). The original was inspired by the American Jeep, but the Land Rover is the first 4x4 in automobile history designed for civilian use, making it the spiritual grandfather of all modern SUVs and SUVs.

In this video we propose to go through the exterior and interior of the classic Defender following its history, but also to make a 4x4 comparison against the new Land Rover Defender and see to what extent it was a good off-road vehicle in the face of complicated obstacles or perhaps the myth was not for so much.

For its part, the new Defender 90 is an impressive vehicle, with 4x4 capabilities totally out of the ordinary. Despite being built on an aluminum monocoque chassis and enjoying an independent 4-wheel air suspension, its dimensions and electronics make it an almost invincible weapon to go over anything in the middle of silence and a incredible luxury.

Despite their totally different approaches, despite the fact that the old Defender was practically a tractor and the new one is a luxury car, we are curious to know which of the two is better 4x4 against extreme obstacles and in this video we are going to find out.
