This is a very basic level guide about 5 things you should know about iRacing's Safety Rating System. If you've been on the racing simulator for a decent amount of time then most of this will probably be somewhat repetitive. However, if you are brand new to the sim and are struggling to understand what is going on with your SR and how it affects you, then you're in the right place. This is a basic-level foundational lesson on what you can expect from the system and how it may affect you. A more detailed, nuanced, guide with examples is in the works.

1) Safety Rating is a No-Fault System.
2) Corners Per Incident is the formula used to give you a rating.
3) You get a 0.40 SR bump or dump when crossing X.00 milestones.
4) You can accrue incident points before and after the race starts/ends.
5) Your bad races will eventually drop off your record.

Dirt Panda Racing is a team of dirt oval drivers on iRacing. We've been on the sim for over 3 years and have accrued a lot of knowledge over that time. This channel is here to share that information. As we continue to get better at producing content and public speaking, our videos will become more polished. Please subscribe to come along into the future with us.
