Lyons, CO is one of my favorite cute little towns of CO which had its beginnings in 1880 and finally officially a town in 1891. This town is best known for its beautiful red sandstone which has been used to build majestic buildings everywhere and even around the world. The University of Colorado buildings are made from Lyons sandstone, which has the distinction of being the hardest sandstone in the world.
