Will Humble says it's the way government is supposed to work. A 2018 state law cracking down on opioid prescriptions had the unintended consequence of depriving chronic-pain sufferers of vital medication. Humble, a former Arizona public health director, says a new law taking effect later this year should provide some relief. The sponsor, Republican State Rep. Nancy Barto, said she got the idea talking to residents in her district.
