This is a couple car review of the new Mazda CX-30 turbo. The CX-30 small suv was introduced last year and sold with a either a 2.0L 4-cylinder or larger 2.5L model. Now, Mazda has taken the CX-30 2.5L and turbocharged it with solid results. The Mazda CX-30 turbo is a small utility with room for 5-passengers over two rows. The power is rated at 250 HP & 320 lb-ft of torque using Premium Fuel or 227 HP & 310 lb-ft of torque on Regular fuel. The Mazda CX-30 turbo is sold with AWD in the Canadian market. Other than the added subtle badging on the outside, the turbocharged model is hard to spot compared to the regular CX-30 GT it is built on. The CX-30 GT is the only model equipped with the turbo engine and it comes nicely equipped with standard 8.8-inch Colour display with Mazda Connect , 7” driver display, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Heated front seats, Leather wrapped and heated steering wheel, Power glass moonroof with one-touch open, Power rear liftgate, Driver’s seat memory, Bose premium sound system with 12 speakers and Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Mazda has been trying to move the brand up market and by adding a turbocharged 2.5L 4-cylinder to the CX-30 and only on the top trim. The power and interior rials the premium brands for a lot less money and the closest competitor might be the larger CX-5 turbo, which is just $3500 more.
