For me the best aspect of the Weta is the headsail. It's a flat cut (screecher) so you can stay up fairly high but as the speed builds and the apparent wind comes around you're able to get down onto a fast broad run. After beating upwind it's nice to be able to turn down and blast downwind at a good pace. Once you learn that the screecher is all about the steering, you won't be afraid to use it in almost any wind strength. The screecher really makes the boat - It's a great ride.

This was shot while a sailing buddy and myself were on Jordan Lake, NC on Friday just prior to the Memorial Day Weekend. Very little boat traffic out but the water was roiled a bit due to the 14 to 23 knot winds. My fastest position downwind was just outside the main hull gunnels and at the rear aka bar. Hiking out beyond the rail allowed me to go higher but wasn't increasing my speed or downwind pointing so I stuck closer to the boat center. Comfortable and fast. It's all about boat trim and steering.
