Britain's flagship aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, departs Portsmouth after a brief stop during a Carrier Strike Group deployment. As a result, a portion of the airwing remained on deck. The airwing consists of F35B Lightning IIs with the Royal Air Force.

The Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier had to make a brief stop at His Majesty's Naval Base Portsmouth to repair a lift issue. The Royal Navy warship also took the opportunity to take on stores. Afterwards, the ship returned to operations with NATO partners and Sweden during Vigilance Activity Neptune Strike 23-3.

Usually fighter jets aren't embarked onboard an aircraft carrier while in homeport. This is the case when a deployment ends and the fighter jets depart for their inland bases. This makes the carrier less of a target, avoiding potential accidents with aircraft and freeing up the deck for maintenance and other works.
