High voice test - sony wins by a lot

Transparency - Bose is much better.
Bose has decibel limiter as well

SOUND
LDAC vs aptX Adaptive - check to see what your phone can do

Sony has big bass, full sound, but a tad aggressive unless you go into the EQ and switch to vocal mode or manually adjust. Or if you just listen to other genres
Sony has extremely capable bass - bass heads will love these, but you can also EQ them to reduce that
Sony has “clearbass” boost feature

Sony has less prominent highs, like anything above 5000hz or so sounds less pronounced, which people often describe as “closed” and lends to less perceived clarity

This is pretty mild

Bose has more hihat detail while Sony hihats can be a bit eclipsed by basslines

Bose has a lot of detail and lots of attack on snares
Keep in mind, I lifted treble and dropped bass on Bose. By default, Bose bass is way too inflated

Bose has weird artifacts in the left earbud when nothing is playing

With the right EQ, Sony has a more natural sound

If you listen to The War On Drugs, this is often a big challenge for earbuds. Both sound great here! I personally like how the XM5’s sound here

BATTERY
Bose battery = 6/24hrs WITH ANC - 4/16 with immersive
Sony battery = 8/24 hrs WITH ANC

FIT AND COMFORT
Bose stays in comfortably when I am sitting and I get less ear fatigue
For activities, Bose falls out when I look down (left ear only)
Sony eartips explode
Sony takes more effort to put in ears (e.g. phone ringing)
