In this video I share what Paint Protection Film (PPF) applied to an older car is like. My 2009 Porsche Carrera 4S had Premium Shield PPF applied in Dec 2020 when the car was nearly 12 years old with 68k miles on it. I always thought of PPF as just being applied to protect the finish of the car, and should only be applied when the car was new. However, in this case, applying PPF gave the finish of the car a glossy appearance that had been lost due to age and weathering. It is not cheap, but if the paint on the car you love is looking dull, this may be a good alternative to repainting the car as a good paint job is expensive and paintwork can negatively impact the value of a car. The car has a matte black wrap on the hood and mirrors for contrast.
