On Jan. 26, 1982, President Ronald Reagan delivered his first State of the Union address and began the tradition of bringing a guest to watch the speech. Sitting in the House gallery was Lenny Skutnik, who was praised for his heroism when he saved a woman after the aircraft she was in crashed into the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., two weeks prior. CBS News' Dan Rather anchored the CBS News special coverage.
