Every late-winter/early-spring, humpback whales migrate north, passing by Okinawa. Often, the whales are migrating with they newborn calves. You can notice several times in the video that the mother keeps the calf above her, ensuring it can get to the surface to breathe. At that age, the calf can only hold its breath for a few minutes.
