Today, we just launched a new series on Railways Explained in which we will time to time, discuss the urban rail systems of worldwide cities! With this it is legit to say that we are sort of expanding our portfolio, but, of course, we are keeping our focus on our expertise – the urban rail systems, rail suburban systems and metro systems.

Furthermore, we partnered in this regard with EIT Urban Mobility, a European Institute of Innovation and Technology, an initiative that since January 2019 is working on encouraging positive changes in how people move around cities to make them more liveable places.

EIT Urban Mobility has launched the Urban Mobility Explained - UMX YouTube channel that explores the current urban mobility subjects through short educational videos produced across Europe and abroad.

Check out their channel and consider subscribing, because if you're interested in these topics, believe us when we say you'll discover a lot of new information!
Anyway, the UMX and RE this time decided to make two separate yet complementary videos on the same subject – the absolutely incredible Istanbul’s metro system, and its efforts to construct 10 metro lines all at once!

Namely, in the UMX video, you’ll be able to hear about the timeline and the main stages of this absolutely massive construction endeavor, while in Railways Explained video, you can learn more about the Istanbul metro system as a whole, its role in everyday life of Istanbul citizens, its staggering transport performance, and eventually about technical characteristics of each of the metro lines.
