Welcome to our Ruby Firmware Update Video Tutorial! This comprehensive guide is specially designed to assist you with the upgrade process of the firmware on your Trodeck laser system running the Ruby software. Before we get started, remember that for the process to work efficiently, your computer must have access to the internet and your laser machine must be turned on.

In this video, we will walk you through all the steps necessary to update your firmware successfully and safely. We begin with opening the Ruby software and selecting the settings menu from the main dropdown inside the software. Here, we click the service button that leads us to the firmware installation wizard.

Next, we guide you on how to start the device firmware update by clicking 'next' and disconnecting your device, followed by turning off your laser machine. With the laser machine lid left open, we then turn the machine back on and instruct you to click 'next' which will bring up the firmware list.

Given the diverse models of laser systems, this list will vary. We stress the importance of knowing your model and selecting the correct firmware from the list. To help with this, we discuss how to locate the serial tag on the backside of the laser machine that provides the version of the electronics. This number will vary based on your specific laser system model.

We show you an example list for Speedy 360 versions of firmware which includes different versions, from older style machines to the current ones, each catering to different laser requirements.

After helping you select the correct firmware, we guide you through the process of clicking the 'load new firmware' button, validating the chosen firmware, and clicking the 'upload firmware' button. Remember, it is crucial not to turn off your laser during the process. Although we've time-lapsed this for our tutorial, the uploading and installation process can take up to three minutes depending on your internet and computer speeds. Patience is key at this stage.

Once finished, we highlight how to identify a successful update through the green 'firmware update complete' message that appears on the bottom right side of your screen (and on the Ruby touchscreen if you have one).

Lastly, we provide guidance on how to finalize the update by closing the laser lid, turning off and on the laser machine. With these steps completed, your laser system firmware is now updated and ready for laser processing!
