Malibu… ohhh, malibu
You def heard about it
When you think about california, malibu is as famous as venice beach to many
So today, we are going to surf there
Point breaks, reef and rock bottoms, it’s longboarder’s heaven,but you can surf many shortboards as well:)
The main problem here is def the crowds. Since it’s point break, everyone sit close to the peak,
the chance of you getting waves here is quite low because of the crowds. And don’t think about dropping in. Cuz that’s just not cool.
Oh yes, the parking here is bad especially during the weekend. There is public parking lot, but usually it’s full, and street parking is the way to go.

Usually I like to surf next to Malibu Pier, but since there’s a contest going on, we can only surf the 3rt point which is not really safe right now,the reef are completely exposed and the overhead waves are closing out.
Topanga is super mellow, it’s in between Malibu and LA. It does close out quite a lot when it’s super low tide, so come when it’s a bit higher. and it breaks mainly 3 points. The one all the way on the left side toward the shore are mainly for shortboarders, and then the middle one are mixed, and the beginners usually sit all the way on the right side since it’s less crowded. The middle part is the most crowded spot cuz the good ones usually start here, and be prepared, it’s quite competitive here.
I have a lot of fun today even I barely catch any waves. But we get to meet lots of cool people on the beach, and get to be in the sun.

So whenever I come here, I mentally prepare myself that I will not get many waves, but if I do end up with one, that one will be amazing. So just prepare yourself for that and you will have a great session.
