New stereo mix of the opening track from their second UK album - The Rolling Stones No. 2.
I worked with a version from a bootleg source, cleaned it up, EQ'd it and then finally remixed it. The drums are now centered, more upfront and punchier.

"Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" is credited to soul singer Solomon Burke and songwriters Bert Berns and Jerry Wexler. Burke has contested this, claiming to be the sole writer and recalling that he used to sing it in church as a child and later presented it to Wexler and Berns during a recording session in 1964. Despite Burke's claims, Wexler has maintained that the song resulted from a three-way collaboration.

The Rolling Stones released two vastly different recordings of the song. The shorter one was released in the US album Now! and was apparently issued by mistake. The second one is over two minutes long, and it's the one you're currently listening to, was issued in only in the UK.

The song has been covered by various artists, most notably The Blues Brothers and Willson Pickett, Led Zeppelin, Dusty Springfield, Small Faces, The 13th Floor Elevators and Genesis.
