While taking the audience on a journey through belonging in post-conflict communities, Omar shares his personal journey to his own identity. His architecture and designs are the result of this journey, centred by his belief in cultural understanding and community involvement- especially in helping to heal a post-conflict community through architecture. In his words, “Architecture can be a symbol of a renaissance, it can be a representation of cultural identity.
