What a pleasant ride yesterday on the former Malaysian railway track that has been transformed into a bicycle path. Once fully complete, it will be possible to ride from across Singapore, from the border with Malaysia at Woodlands and to the downtown business district at Tanjong Pagar. What a great bicycle commuting corridor to get from the heartlands of Singapore and right smack to the center without having to come in contact with any cars / traffic!

Notably, the ride is very flat and straight, because it used to be a railway track. So, not cumbersome overhead bridges / staircases / funny detours / long waits at traffic lights. The Railway Corridor linear park crosses below several major highways without any hassle to the bicyclist. And the nature experience is great, too. So, many trees and greenery along the railway track.

This bicycle trip also includes a loop through downtown Singapore + along the Singapore river, before looping back to the Railway Corridor again.

Enjoy - and let's have more of these bicycle-centric project in our cities. Other potential bicycle corridors include land below high tension power lines, along rivers and canals.
