In today's video, we delve deep into the roots of OCD, especially the kind that affects your religious and spiritual life. We explore the Islamic concept of Waswâs al-qahri, which refers to the intrusive thoughts that can plague your mind, affecting your worship, faith, and even your daily life.

We'll also discuss the role of Imams and clinicians in treating this condition, and how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) can be aligned with Islamic teachings for a comprehensive treatment approach.

Don't miss out on the Islamic techniques and practices that can help you find relief. From seeking refuge in Allah to the power of Dhikr and Du'ā.

This video is not just for those who are struggling with OCD but also for family members, community leaders, and anyone interested in understanding the Islamic perspective on mental health.

The Du'ā mentioned in the video for relief from stress and anxiety taught by the Messenger ﷺ:

‘Allahumma innee ‘abduka wa ibn ‘abdika wa ibn amatika, naasiyati bi yadika, maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka, as’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw ista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘andak an taj’ala al-Qurana rabee’ qalbi wa noor sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhahaaba hammi.

O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your female slave, my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every Name belonging to You which You named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Quran the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety.

The Du'ā for Ruqyah taught by the Prophet ﷺ is as follows:

Put your hand on the place where you feel pain and say:

Bismillāh (three times). Then say seven times: A`ūdhu billāhi wa qudratihi min sharri mā ajidu wa uḥādhir.

I seek refuge in Allah and in His Power from the evil of what I find and of what I guard against.
(Muslim 4/1728)
