Kia's all-new 2021 K5 is the latest generation of what we've known as the Kia Optima. Now called K5 to align with the name everywhere else in the world, Kia claims this all-new K5 can out-handle a BMW 330i and do 37 miles per gallon on the highway. While we didn't get much chance to sample the handling (highways are very long and straight) we took the K5 from Washington, DC to Charlotte, NC and back to sample its road trip manners with Drivewise and Highway Driving Assist, and evaluate fuel economy. This 2021 #Kia K5 is the EX Premium with Kia's 1.6L turbocharged Smartstream four-cylinder, making 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque at the front wheels.
