There are plenty of casting decisions that sound bizarre at first but turn out to prove everyone wrong -- like Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight -- but then there are the times that our instincts are right.

No one could have expected Keanu Reeves to convincingly play the very British Jonathan Harker in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and he didn’t. Sadly, some of these casting choices go beyond just miscasts though, as they involve whitewashing, self-absorbed directors, and criminals who should be nowhere near a film set.
