00:16 Delivery
The Remington is large and is delivered on a palette. It's well-packaged with manufactured board covers, which need removing with a screwdriver. You may also need help bringing it into the house and a dolly is an absolute necessity!

00:53 Seasoning
Once installed, you'll need to season the cabinet as it has rich-smelling cedar shelves inside. We suggest using Boveda for this and we were recommended 1 320g 84% pack for each shelf. Leave them in for two weeks and it will fully season the unit. Afterwards, just remove them and replace them with your preferred humidifier.

01:32 Final Setup
You will see the original Remington humidor that is fully stocked with cigars as well as another one that is currently seasoning. They have been set up with 320g Boveda packs rather than using the in-built humidifier as we find them more reliable.

The one that's currently set up features 65% Boveda packs as it's storing Cubans. Meanwhile, the other one will have 69% Boveda packs as it will store New World cigars. The controls on the Remington cabinet are intuitive and easy to use.

02:15 Temperature Control
Paul previously used Coolidor-style storage containers for his cigars. However, since moving to Florida, he required a solution that would help keep the cigars cool in the warm climate. Since you can't seem to calibrate the sensors in the cabinet, Paul is also using Boveda Butlers to monitor the storage conditions of the cabinets.

Although Paul is using Boveda packs, the cabinet is equipped with a water reservoir that uses in-built fans that distribute the humidity throughout the system. Nevertheless, the packs in the smaller Redford model are six months old and still don't require changing. Therefore, it features a good airtight seal.

04:10 Storage Size
The Remington is around 6 feet tall and incredibly heavy. Moving the unit is challenging and Paul highly recommends using carpet slides under the feet so that it can easily be pushed and pulled when necessary. Some room is also needed behind the unit so that air can properly flow. Empty, the Remington weighs around 150 lb whereas it can be over 300 lb once fully loaded.

05:15 Pros & Cons
There are a few quality control issues with the Remington cabinet. The digitally display on the smaller Redford model wasn't flush and bent out. Meanwhile, the hinges on one of the Remingtons was faulty. However, Your Elegant Bar and Prestige Imports have been helpful in addressing those issues.

As for its benefits, it offers a large storage capacity and is more convenient than building a walk-in humidor, especially if renting. The temperature control is very beneficial and it's an attractive piece of furniture compared to using coolidors.

07:16 Would I Recommend?
Paul initially bought the smaller Redford humidor to protect the investment of his premium cigars. As he was happy with the purchase, he upgraded and got two additional Remington cabinets. Therefore, he would certainly recommend them, especially given the value that they offer given their sheer size.
