In SOLIDWORKS CAM, we select the material that is used in the calculation of feeds and speeds. The default list contains about thirty materials. That list can be added to by selecting from over 1100 materials in the database. To do this, launch the Technology Database then navigate to Feed and Speed. Select the Feed and Speed Editor. Select Install from Archive. Select the material you want from the long list by placing a tick beside it. For demonstration purposes, I will select the 1018 tube material. Select Install Material. Lastly, we update the stock material data.
