Gigafactory Texas on 13 April 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
Another great day to fly! Giga Texas was again an incredibly busy place today and several new "firsts" have been started within the last 24 hours or so, and progress on many other areas as well. One of the two most interesting developments are the start of the large excavation just to the south of the paint shop (as reported on my 7 April video from on-site discussion I had) and the start of the footings to complete the casting machine structure and the northeast corner of the foundation!
In this video, we also look at 10 other areas with some level of construction as well as a brief discussion of the old plant and what its future might be. This is an update from my 10 February video. I decided to do this because so much has changed in just the two months since I last did this full-site review ... it is utterly amazing the changes!

Other highlights from the site today include:
- The Northwest battery cell area steel structure progress continues to be flat out amazing in the speed and scale! With 6 cranes all working at the same time and a constant stream of delivery trucks with steel columns and beams, the structure is already about 25% complete to include some flooring decking and roof panels! Simply amazing!
- The west steel structure is also growing on the south and east sides and a lot more steel has been delivered in this area as well to keep up the pace. It appears the steel is being installed about as quickly as it arrives, with some staging of materials a bit further to the south and west. Because of this, the progress is not quite as apparent as the battery cell area, but it is noticeably moving towards the south quickly now.
- The large footing field at the southwest is also growing rapidly, nearing the south perimeter grade beam now. The next major area of progress we should see is the continued construction of the west and then south perimeter grade beams.
- The area just to the south of the large water detention pond is having land clearing and dirt fill operations picking back up today ... I am not sure if this will end up being an enlarged water detention pond or a second one as storm water pipes near the stamping structure appear to be terminating in this area.
- The stamping machine structure roof appears to be waiting for finishing work on HVAC roof-top equipment installation and water management systems before the final roofing material can be completed.
- Across the currently installed roof panel area, multiple locations are now installing insulation and weatherproofing material now, accelerating the progress to make the waterproof.
- The area just to the south of the paint shop now has a large excavation starting, but the plans for this area are still unknown.
- The paint shop itself shows a lot more of the metal wall studs and green wall panels on the east, west and south sides. In the areas where the interior is still visible, it is possible to see that a large amount of equipment and assembly has already taken place, making great progress towards initial operational testing within the next month I believe.
- The casting machine area is finally getting the footings installed to complete the northeast area. They also appear to have exposed the pipe from the temporary Stabilis LNG tanks to the casting machine area, suggesting they may be ready to move these tanks to allow continued GeoPier and footing installation.
- The Harold Green road bypasses are now operational and the road itself is now blocked off to traffic and some early preparations to begin demolition were present at the time of the drone flight.
