Excellent display of modal interchange. Using the 6th degree to pivot between C# dorian and C# aeolian, occasionally raising the 7th degree to turn it into the C# harmonic minor as well.
I was reminded of the start of the first movement of Ravel's "Sonatine" here, with the tremolo in the lower right hand. The same mystical feeling I felt in this song was present in Ravel's piece, so I decided to recreate it using a written-out trill in the right hand of the originally instrumental sections in this arrangement.
Also, there's really interesting swapping between the groupings of the 6 beats in each bar, occasionally 3+3 or 2+2+2, in some cases even both at the same time. Makes the music sound more free-metered personally. I've marked out the groupings I made out in the sheet music.
