Sprinter 4x4 Van Off Road in sand dunes. Everything you need to know about not getting stuck off road and how to do a recovery using winch with an anchor, traction boards, and the benefit of rear locking differential.
1. Best recovery is not getting stuck in the 1st place by picking a good line when driving.
A. 4x4 (ideally low range)
B. High clearance lift with larger tires
C. Deflated all terrain or mud terrain tires
D. Locking differential ( Agile Offroad & ARB Air locking differential )
2. If that fails (ideally travel with a buddy and try to go back out from where you came instead of moving forward) if those aren’t an option:
A. Deflate tires if you haven’t already
B. Use traction boards ( MaxTrax )
C. Use shovel with or traction board to remove obstacle if possible
D. Using winch with an anchor (Deadman Offroad Recovery Anchor & Warn / Factor 55 )
