This past Saturday, March 23rd was going to be the kickoff of the 2024 season for the amusements down at America's playground, Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY.

...aaaaand then the Northeast got hit with like five feet of rain. Whoops!

Although Saturday's plans didn't go off as had hoped, Sunday ended up being an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day -- once you got past the bitter cold and wind, that is. We ended up making the drive out from Jersey in the early afternoon to check things out, and had a great few hours walking around the boardwalk, riding rides, playing games, and of course, getting some Nathan's because what are you gonna do, go to Coney Island and NOT get Nathan's?

This first part of our trip focuses on the properties that are considered to be part of Luna Park. One notable absence here is the Warpzone Retro Darkade, which is located on the opposite side of the building from the Luna Arcade. Guessing that staffing was a bit tough for opening day, since none of the roll gates were open, but we will check back later in the season and make another video when and if it opens.
