BMI was privileged to pay tribute to renowned singer/songwriter Horacio Palencia with the BMI President’s Award for his contributions to Mexican music and far beyond. After his first 2007 hit, “De Ti Exclusivo,” a song he wrote for La Arrolladora Banda el Limón, Palencia became both an artist and a sought-after songwriter, going on to write for names like Banda MS, Belinda, Banda El Recodo, Carin León, Christian Nodal, Luis Fonsi, Fuerza Regida, Grupo Firme, and many others, and expanding his reach to write for film and television. He has earned five Latin GRAMMY nominations, received more than 50 BMI Awards, and was named BMI Latin Songwriter of the Year and BMI Regional Mexican Songwriter of the Year four times each. We celebrate Horacio Palencia’s exceptional creative achievements and are excited to add to his long list of well-deserved honors.
